Becky Albertalli was op zondag 24 april een van de auteurs op YALFest, het eerste Young Adult Literatuur Festival van Nederland. Maar de oreoliefhebbende schrijfster ging ook de dag erna nog op pad met de dames van Blossom Books. ’s Middags discussieerde ze met haar fans op de bovenverdieping van De Utrechtse Kinderboekwinkel.

Becky Albertalli was one of the authors at YALFest on Sunday April 24, the first Young Adult Literature Festival in The Netherlands. But the Oreo-loving writer hit the road the day after with the Blossom Books ladies. In the afternoon she joined a discussion with her fans at the second floor of the Utrechtse Kinderboekwinkel.

Februari was de maand van de liefde, en wie houdt je nou beter gezelschap dan een goed boek? Vorige maanden had ik grote stapels met boeken, februari bracht vooral een mix van boeken en goodies door de nieuwe releases en premieres die ik bezocht. Natuurlijk hou ik van allemaal even veel, dus kijk gauw mee wat er naast bovenstaande boeken nog meer bij mijn Haul hoort.

Dat Blossom Books een bijzondere uitgeverij is, wordt al duidelijk als ondanks het winterse weer op Valentijnsdag de gehele bovenverdieping van Boekhandel Het Colofon in Arnhem vol zit. Het is hun vrije zondagmiddag, maar toch discussiëren de boekenfans enthousiast. Naast de trouwe fans kenmerkt Blossom Books zich als uitgeverij van een aantal diverse boeken, waarin de nieuwste aanwinst letterlijk de diversiteit in positieve zin benadrukt: Simon vs. de verwachtingen van de rest van de wereld door Becky Albertalli.
